so far, so good. just working and planning the wedding. i talked a coworker this morning who mentioned that he paid $75 a head for food alone for his daughter's wedding and they had 250 guests. i can't even imagine. he said it was $150 out the window for every guest who did not attend the wedding even though they RSVPed! so one couple decides not to show...$300 out the window!
i'm so thankful the Lord is ultimately planning our wedding and has given us the wisdom and desire for something small and intimate. halleluia!
a verse and a thought for the day.
"He stirs up the sea with His power, and by His understanding He breaks up the storm. by His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him! but the thunder of His power who can understand?" job 26:12-14.
"hast thou never been helped in time of need? go back, then, a little way to the choice mercies of yesterday, and though all may be dark now, light up the lamps of the past, they shall glitter through the darkness, and thou shalt trust in the Lord till the day break and the shadows flee away. 'remember, oh Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindness, for they have been ever of old.'" -c.h. spurgeon.
